STIFFENERS
SCAFCO has developed a new family of super stiffeners. Utilizing
57-ksi yield (up to 80 000 psi tensile), hot dip galvanized steel,
these new shapes surpass the compressive strengths of previous
open-faced stiffeners. This strong new profile can handle the
draw-down loads imposed by very tall bins/silos, as well as severe
seismic loads. Each bin utilizes several stiffener gauges and
up to three profiles for the most efficient column design.
 HEAVY
DUTY STIFFENERS
Heavy-duty stiffeners transfer drawdown loads from the sidewalls
to the foundation. Rugged base plate is factory-welded to the
bottom stiffener, providing durable bin anchorage to resist lateral
and uplift loads.
 SIDE
DISCHARGE SYSTEM
SCAFCO side discharge system allows gravity loadout to trucks
or rail cars. Interior flumes channel grain from top storage level
to the discharge chute. Available with 12" (300mm) square
discharge pipe and rack and pinion gate.

 GALVANIZED
STEEL BODY SHEETS
Our unique 42 2/3" (1.08 M) galvanized
steel wall sheets have a 2 2/3" pitch and 1/2" (67.7
mm x 12.7mm) deep corrugation. Wall sheets are pre-punched in
a single stroke operation, assuring accurate hole alignment and
uniform fit. Sheets are precision roll-formed from high tensile
steel.
 COMPLETE
INTERIOR & EXTERIOR LADDER SYSTEM
Complete ladder systems are available, including safety cage and
rest platforms for sidewall heights above 32’ (10 m). SCAFCO’s
ladder systems are designed to meet government safety standards.
ACCESS
DOORS
Stiffened bins feature a heavy-duty 23 1/2" x 26" (597
mm x 660 mm) access door. Access doors serve the same function
as utility doors on non-stiffened bins, but are sturdier in construction
and are welded and bolted into the bin’s wall sheets.
Customers may also select from

Heavy-duty
28" x 36" (710 mm x915 mm) utility door.
Walk-in door for
easy access. 28" x 60" (710 mm x 1525 mm)
"Giant"
doors designed for drive-in access for small front-end loaders
or other equipment. Two sizes: 67" x 75" or 72"
x 96" (1.7 m x 1.9 m or 1.8 m x 2.4 m). |
